Philadelphia Inquirer Covers Peace Keeping Plans for DNC
With many protests scheduled to coincide with the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Inquirer on July 21 covered a grassroots peace keeping effort to promote free expression and non-violence.
The article tallies several actions community organizations have planned to lift up human rights, the environment, poverty and other issues and an effort to coordinate the activities.
Douglas Campbell, a member of the HMM community who was helped plan for a peace keeping initiative, is quoted in the article.
“Quakers were taught conflict resolution techniques and that’s to engage someone, with respect, when you see them overly enthusiastic and quietly listen to them,” Campbell said.
