Parenting using Quaker Testimonies as a Guide

May 2011

Quaker Worship: In the Silence:  Worship and Ministry Committee hosted a one day retreat at the Meeting House entitled Quaker Worship: In the Silence on Saturday, May 7 . Our facilitator for the day was Pat McBee, member of Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, author and frequent leader of retreats and workshops on many aspects of Quaker life. Through personal reflection, experiential practice, sharing and discussion, we  explored the questions: What is worship/why do we gather/what are we seeking?  We considered the awe and reverence of silent worship, centering, images of deep silence and the covered meeting.
