Property Committee:

The Charge

We are stewards of the building and grounds of HMM.

Responsibilities include:

  • General care of the equipment, appliances and property; and inventoring of same; handling “orphaned clutter.”
  • Employing and managing caretakers for the property and maintaining contracts with all 3rd parties concerning care and use of the property.
  • Ensuring that all repairs or improvements to the property be done with historic nature of the property in mind.  Making rounds of the building and property periodically noting any unreported issues.
  • Coordinating with MS & GY Committee on issues of concern to both committees.  Attending regularly scheduled joint meetings of the two committees.
  • Reviewing needs for capital improvements to the Meeting property, in the short term and long term; making recommendations to MM concerning these needs.
  • Overseeing groups and individuals desiring to rent space in the MH and its property as to their impact on the building and property, and determining a rent structure based on maintenance costs and energy use.  Acting as liaison to and having oversight of MH renters.
  • Coordinating and directing Meeting Community work days.
  • Fire Inspections; ensuring that our property meets regulations/codes
